Kendall Francis - Silence is a System

Kendall Francis - Silence is a System

Imagine stepping onto a major college campus as a first-generation student. You have the weight of your family’s dreams on your shoulders. Then, in a matter of hours, your entire future is shattered. This is the horrifying reality for Kendall Francis. She didn't just survive a brutal assault on Louisiana State University's campus; she had to survive a system that seemingly prioritized Saturday night football over her humanity.

On October 18, 2025, a simple social media connection led Kendall to a dorm room on LSU’s campus. What happened next inside those walls derailed her freshman year, spiraling her into severe anxiety and deep depression. In total shock, she fled back to her apartment. LSU Police stepped in, taking her to a hospital where she spent seven grueling hours enduring an invasive rape kit examination.

Kendall did everything right. She played by the rules. She filed a formal Title IX administrative complaint in January 2026. And the university investigated. In fact, LSU’s Title IX office officially found this football player guilty and responsible for sexual assault and forcible rape.

You would think that a finding of forcible rape by a university board would mean immediate expulsion and handcuffs. But inside the multi-million-dollar machine of college football, the rules change. The player appealed. And while LSU upheld the finding that he raped her, they completely gutted his punishment. A mere one-year suspension was wiped away, replaced with two years of disciplinary probation with absolutely no restrictions. He was allowed to put his helmet back on and remain on the official LSU football roster.

Kendall was left isolated, struggling academically, while her attacker walked the same campus paths freely. When she realized that the university's internal finding of rape didn't mean the police were coming to arrest him, she knew then, she was entirely on her own.

Francis courageously admitted she initially misunderstood the system, believing that a formal university finding of "forcible rape" would automatically trigger criminal prosecution. When she realized the university had no obligation or intention to hand those files over to law enforcement, leaving her attacker unrestricted on campus, she refused to stay silent.

She took to TikTok, releasing a wave of viral videos detailing the institutional betrayal. The sheer volume of public outrage finally forced the hands of local authorities. The East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office has officially intervened, bypassing LSU's administrative shielding to launch a formal criminal investigation. Her raw emotion went entirely viral, shaking the university to its core.

Kendall put it bluntly: "Sexual assault and rape should matter more than football."

Because Kendall refused to be silenced, the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office has been forced to step in, officially launching a criminal investigation. While authorities have not yet publicly released the football player’s name due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, the court of public opinion has already reached its verdict.

Guardian Circles will continue to follow this case as updates emerge. Please stay safe out there💜
